Membership of the Club

The SCSC provides a range of services to the System Safety profession including seminars, specialist topic working groups, a comprehensive body of publications and the annual symposium.  Some of these, such as the guidance produced by the specialist working groups, are made freely available to anyone through this website.  However, the most valuable services are only available to current SCSC members.  This includes the SCSC Newsletter, the proceedings of the symposium, participation in working groups, access to video recordings, presentations and other resources from events.

Full SCSC membership, giving access to all of the above and a prerequisite to attendance in person or online at an event, is usually paid anuually. A Publications pass membership is also available that gives access to online resources for one month but this does not allow event attendance.

Concessionary rate membership is available for:

• Safety Futures Initiative (SFI) participants
• full-time students
• retired people

To request the concessionary rate please register on the website first then contact alex.king@scsc.uk with supporting information to request that your account is updated.

Becoming a member

To become an individual member of the SCSC please:

1. Register on the SCSC website using the user icon at the top right of any page and select "Register".
2. Complete your account registration information and click "Register".
3. You link to verify your email address will be sent to the address you provided. Click this link to verify your account.
4. Now that you are registered and logged in, you should see a link "why not join the SCSC for more benefits." inviting you to become a member at the top right of the page. Click this link to make an on-line membership payment.
5. Individual membership can be paid on-line using a credit/debit card through our secure payment partner PayPal.
6. To check your membership status at any time, log in to the website, click on "My membership".

To join as a member covered by a corporate membership:

1. Register on the SCSC website using the user icon at the top right of any page and select "Register".
2. Complete your account registration and member information as fully as possible.
3. Save your member information.
4. Contact office@SCSC.uk and request that your membership is confirmed.
5. When confirmed as being covered by a corporate membership your account will be updated.
6. To check your membership status at any time, log in to the website, click on "My membership".

Renewing your membership

To renew an individual membership:

• You should be notified by email when your membership is almost expired or shortly after it has expired.  These notifications will contain a link to the on-line renewal page. 
• If you have not received an email and your membership has expired you should get a notification when you log in looking like this
  

1. Click one of these links to go to the on-line renewal page.
2. Individual membership paid on-line can be completed using a credit/debit card through our secure payment partner PayPal Payments.

If you would like to renew your membership and pay by any other method or have any other queries please contact alex.king@scsc.uk.

To renew as a member covered by a corporate membership:

• If your corporate membership has expired, when you log in to the website you should get a notification looking like this
  
• Your company contact with the SCSC should make the renewal by contacting alex.king@scsc.uk.  If you do not know who your corporate contact is please contact alex.king@scsc.uk for advice.
• When the corporate membership has been renewed all people covered by it will be renewed.
• Alternatively you can renew as an individual member by clicking on the link in the message.
