THE SAFETY-CRITICAL SYSTEMS CLUB, TechTrip:

SCSC Visit to Bletchley Park and the National Museum of Computing

Saturday 30 April, 2022 - Bletchley, UK

This was the first SCSC Technical Trip, an opportunity to visit somewhere of great technical interest with other club members.

This trip was to both the Bletchley Park codebreakers museum (where Alan Turing worked during the war and the subject of several major films, https://bletchleypark.org.uk/ ) and also the separate National Museum of Computing (which is on the same site, but run completely independently), https://www.tnmoc.org/.

We visited both museums on the same day, with excellent guided tours for each. Both were fascinating places to visit!

Itinerary

We arrived at 11:30 on Saturday 30th April 2022 and met in the Bletchley Park car park

We had a 1-hour guided tour of Bletchley Park grounds at 12:30 followed by free time.

At 14:30 we moved to the National Museum of Computing for a dedicated tour with a technical guide. The detailed tour took 3 hours!
