SSEI Task 22 aims to update guidance on the application of civil safety standards to DS 00-56 Issue 4 to account for recent revisions to those standards and shifts in technology and safety culture. This report covers the changes to IEC 61508 in detail, particularly regarding COTS software components, to identify areas that require additional scrutiny.
