My talk will cover how we went about identifying a Clinical IT standard we could work with; our approach to training colleagues in the principles of safety and risk; our work with international standards bodies and the development of NHS standards for health IT. I will talk about our experience in operating the safety management system and how this compared to other programmes internationally. Finally, I will discuss the current situation and the challenges the sector faces at a global level.
