AI and autonomous systems are becoming prevalent – not only in day-to-day life - but also now in the development of systems, with the first steps now being taken in safety-critical systems. Where this will all lead in the development and assurance of safety systems is as yet hard to assess, but could have far-reaching impact, affecting everything from initial hazard identification studies to safety analyses, requirements generation, code production, development of test cases and production of safety cases. Our current system safety practices and approaches will have to adapt to make best use of these new technologies and techniques. The Safety Critical Systems Club has operated in support of the safety community since 1991 and our work has continued ever since. This volume is the proceedings for the 34th Club Symposium in February 2026 held at the Milner Hotel, York, UK. The symposium was for both experienced members of the safety community and those at earlier stages of their careers. It was a great opportunity to learn, develop experience and also build up useful connections and create technical and social net-works. SSS’26 extended across three days of presentations, grouped into key themes: AI & Autonomy, New Approaches, Addressing Complexity and UAV & UAS.
